The Court of Appeal today (04) commenced the consideration of intermediary petitions seeking permission to intervene and present submissions regarding the petition filed by former State Intelligence Service (SIS) Chief, retired Major General Suresh Sallay.
Major General Sallay’s petition challenges his potential arrest and detention in connection with ongoing investigations.
During today’s proceedings, legal counsel representing the Deshahithaishi National Movement and the Deshapremi Janatha Movement presented preliminary submissions on behalf of their respective intermediary petitions.
Following the initial arguments, the Court of Appeal postponed further consideration of the intermediary petitions until August 06.
