Court Orders Re-summoning of Gota’s Petition Against Arrest Over Easter Sunday Attacks

The Court today (23) ordered that the writ petition filed by former President Gotabaya Rajapaksa, seeking an order to prevent his arrest in connection with the Easter Sunday terror attacks, be re-summoned on August 3.

The order was issued after President’s Counsel Romesh de Silva, appearing on behalf of the petitioner Gotabaya Rajapaksa, made reply submissions today, to allow for further oral submissions.

Former President Gotabaya Rajapaksa was also present in court today during the proceedings.
