The Illegal Assets Investigation Division has frozen a tractor valued at over Rs. 5 million and a financial investment worth Rs. 10 million belonging to an individual residing in the Ibbagamuwa area.
These assets were allegedly acquired through illegal earnings derived from drug trafficking.
The freezing order was issued following a comprehensive investigation conducted by the Illegal Assets Investigation Division based on a complaint received regarding the suspect’s illicitly acquired wealth.
Under the provisions of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act, orders have been enforced to freeze the specified vehicle and financial investments for a period of seven days, effective from July 24, 2026.
The Illegal Assets Investigation Division is conducting further inquiries to trace additional assets and identify other individuals associated with the illegal operation.
