Lawsuits Against Liquor Companies for Tax Evasion – AG Informs Court

The Attorney General today (20) informed the Supreme Court that steps have been taken to file lawsuits in the District Courts to recover evaded taxes from liquor manufacturing companies.

The Attorney General’s representative made this submission when a Fundamental Rights (FR) petition was taken up for consideration today. The petition seeks an order directing authorities to recover outstanding taxes from the liquor manufacturing companies that have defaulted on their payments.
