The England national football team successfully secured third place in the 2026 FIFA World Cup after defeating France in a high-scoring encounter today (19th).
In a thrilling third-place play-off match played in the early hours of the morning, England emerged victorious with a stunning 6-4 win against the French squad.
England dominated the first half of the match, with Declan Rice and Ezri Konsa scoring a goal each, while star forward Bukayo Saka netted a brilliant brace (two goals) to put their team in a commanding position.
France launched a fierce comeback in the second half, scoring four goals in total. Kylian Mbappé scored twice, while Bradley Barcola and Ousmane Dembélé added one goal each to the scoreboard.
