The trade unions of teachers and principals have prepared to hold a protest on the 22nd to pressure the authorities to reduce the interest rate charged for loans taken from commercial banks.
Arrangements have been made to hold the protest in Colombo and to do it jointly with the Ceylon Teachers Service Union and other teachers’ and principals’ unions. In this regard, the Secretary of the Ministry of Education has been notified that the relevant protest campaign will be held on the 22nd . The protestors will apply for leave to join the protest campaign.
