PM not given time yet for Election Commission’s request for discussion

It is revealed that the Prime Minister and the Minister of Public Administration, Home Affairs, Provincial Councils and Local Government Dinesh Gunawardena have not yet given time to discuss the problematic situations that have arisen in connection with the local government elections.
This is revealed when Chairman of the Election Commission, lawyer Nimal G Punchihewa made a statement made to the media staatng that he expects the Prime Minister to give the relevant discussion this week.
Chairman of the Election Commission, has stated that the next steps to be taken regarding the holding of local government elections will be decided after the discussion with Prime Minister Dinesh Gunawardena.
The Election Commission had requested the Prime Minister Dinesh Gunawardena to give an opportunity to discuss the issues that have arisen for the holding of the local government elections.

Accordingly, the Election Commission has mentioned that the relevant discussion will be received within the week and after that discussion, they will decide the next steps regarding the local authorities election.
