Despite the World Food Organization revealing that 6.7 million people cannot get their meals due to the collapse of Sri Lanka’s economy, Ranil Wickremesinghe’s budget has announced that 61,000 families will be given a meagre amount of money.
It has been announced in the budget presented yesterday (30) that an allowance of Rs.10,000 will be given to those families for the next 04 months.
Generally, suppose one family has 05 members. In that case, the number of people covered by this benefit of 10,000 rupees is 305,000, but according to the data revealed by the World Food Organization, 6.7 million people have lost three times their meals.
