The Appropriation Bill of the Interim Budget presented by President Ranil Wickremesinghe as the Finance Minister has been submitted to the Parliament, and the largest percentage of money has been reserved for his position as President, Finance Minister and Defense Minister.
Accordingly, under President Ranil Wickremesinghe, 25.75% of the total budget has been allocated to the ministries. Rs. 467.21 billion has been allocated for the Ministry of Finance and National Policy, and Rs. 376.33 billion for the Ministry of Defense.
Meanwhile, another Rs. 3.39 billion has been allocated to the President’s budget. The total of those three expenditure heads is Rs. 846.93 billion. It is a percentage of 25.81%.
Apart from this, as a ministry, the highest amount has been allocated to the Ministry of Public Administration, Provincial Councils and Local Government. The amount is Rs. 734.67 billion. It is a percentage of 22.43%.
