100,000 families in this country go hungry every day due to not getting food every day says Dr Suren Batagoda, chairman of the Food Security Committee.
In addition to this, he says that at the food security committee meeting, it was revealed that 75,000 families are in a situation as to be uncertain as to what they would eat daily, and 40,000 families are getting their nutrition from saline.
Dr Suren Batagoda emphasizes that this situation will be very dangerous if appropriate solutions are not given to the current crisis.
