Today (20th), special privileges have been granted to members of parliament who cannot correctly vote for the successor president.
If the General Secretary of the Parliament, who is the electoral officer of this election, is satisfied, it is possible to get another paper instead of the wrongly used ballot paper. It is stated in these polling regulations that “if a ballot paper is spoiled by the negligence of the Members, it may be returned to the Returning Officer and another ballot paper may be given in its place”.
Thus, it is confirmed that even though the legal system, including the Constitution, states that the sovereign power belongs to the people and it cannot be transferred to others, a privilege that does not belong to the people has been given to the people’s representatives appointed by the people.
On the other hand, it is clear from this that among those who are now members of Parliament, there are also those who cannot mark even a ballot paper correctly.
