With Ali Sabri refusing to accept the post of Finance Minister, government MPs will not run for a number of Chief Ministerial posts and a number of other ministerial posts, sources from the Presidential Palace said.
Although eight ministerial posts were ready to be filled by yesterday (14th) evening, only four of them have been accepted. The sources said that the main reason for this was the committee appointed by Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe to provide essential goods and services. It is also reported that many are reluctant to accept the ministerial posts as they are likely to face serious crises in the future due to Ranil Wickremesinghe’s arbitrary and devolution measures.
