The price of imported milk powder will have to be increased again from today (30th) says the Media Spokesman of the Milk Powder Importers Association Ashoka Bandara.
He said that the increase in milk powder prices would be announced today and that the increase in the price of milk powder may not be a collective increase for milk powder by importers.
Previously, the milk powder companies had increased the price of a 400-gram packet of milk powder by 90 rupees and the price of a 1 kg milk powder packet by 225 rupees on October 15.
The government has abandoned the control over milk powder prices, and importers are now setting the prices. Accordingly, the market’s current price of a 400-gram packet of milk powder is Rs. 470, and a 1 kg packet of milk powder costs Rs. 1,170.
