Minister Udaya Gammanpila has issued a special cabinet paper to hand over 33,000 acres of land around the Trincomalee harbour to an American company revealed Convener of the Voice Against Corruption Wasantha Samarasinghe.
He revealed this at a press conference on the 8th. He accused the government of engaging in such treacherous activities by telling people not to leave their homes when the corona is spreading across the country. The present government had strongly criticized the handing over of 16,000 acres of land around the Hambantota port to China when it was in opposition at the time and added not the same people who have come to power is planning to hand over the large tract of land around the Trincomalee port to the United States.
He stressed the government that has focused on handing over the western jetty of the Colombo Port to India and the Kerawalapitiya power plant to the United States and handing over land around Trincomalee to the USA would pave the path to establish the corridor relevant to the MCC agreement.
He urged the people to immediately intervene to defeat the plundering of Sri Lanka’s resources as these cabinet papers are issued by those who are loyal to the USA.
