When the Minister Changed, Everything fell through…

Amidst a severe crisis in Sri Lankan cricket, the newly appointed Cricket Transformation Committee has managed to complete a significant amount of administrative work behind the scenes within a short period.

This was revealed during a press conference held yesterday (28) by the committee’s chairman, Eran Wickramaratne, alongside other committee members.

It was disclosed during the briefing that over LKR 600 million had been spent annually on legal expenses alone in the past. The committee has actively engaged with the International Cricket Council (ICC) to minimize such wasteful expenditures and draft a new constitution for Sri Lanka Cricket.

Speaking at the conference, committee member Sidath Wettimuny highlighted that although several attempts had been made in the past to formulate a proper constitution, those efforts were completely abandoned every time the subject minister changed.
