It is reported that the government is focusing on making the card issued to ensure vaccination mandatory with the rapid spread of the Delta strain of the covid virus across the country.
The Chief of the covid Suppression Task Force, General Shavendra Silva stated that discussions have been held with all relevant sections in this regard. He further said the decision is taken as there are sections of the public who show some hesitation in obtaining the covid vaccine.
He further said that the Divisional Secretaries and Grama Niladharis have been informed to find out those over 60 years of age who have not been vaccinated in their respective areas and take measured to get them vaccinated.
