Major hospitals in several provinces, including the Colombo district, are overflowing with covid-19 patients.
Meanwhile, Thilakshani Madhuwanthi, a journalist of Sirasa Media Network, has posted a very sensitive note on her Facebook page with photos of her mother and father being admitted to the covid ward of the Kalubowila Hospital.

I can see the news I told about India with my own eyes
It is 1:20 in the morning.
This is the covid ward of Kalubowila Hospital.
Two or three patients in one bed on the ward.
They are critically ill.
Others receiving oxygen under the beds in the ward, are fighting for their lives,.
Afraid to walk as there are patients on the floor.
All the rest of the infected (over a hundred people) lay out on benches, chairs, or under trees.
There are others with or without a blanket on the sandy ground.
Even at this hour of early morning, the admission queue is very long.
I put my mother on a hard-to-find chair and sat on a stone wall to care for her.
All of these people enduring mosquito bites and teh cold, are fighting the corona.
Within a few hours I witness two deaths.
Some faint and fall.
Staff is limited.
They work as hard as a gods and goddesses.
While my mother was fighting the corona, my father was depending on an oxygen machine waiting for days to survive.
There is no greater sorrow in this life.
There is no more helplessness.
Tomorrow I will be infected too.
I have only one thing to say.
Do not underestimate the corona.
Be as careful as you can.
Take care of everyone in the family.
