Anuruddha Padeniya, President of the Government Medical Officers’ Association (GMOA) says that every village should be given a check as a solution to import poisonous coconut oil.
He said this at a panel discussion organized yesterday (10th) by the Government Medical Officers’ Association and the National Front of Professionals regarding the addition of toxins to foods including coconut oil.
“If you ask someone in 70s or 80s he or she would say it is not a big deal. Coconut oil was extracted for the New Year. It is the only process we can trust now. I think in every village an oil-press was made, and in the past they were used commonly, not in one house. Then why can’t our Ministry of Coconut start creating one like this in every village. Have oil-mills in every village. These are simple things. People in every village will then rise on their own.” This is how Dr. Anuruddha Padeniya proposed to extract coconut oil in our country.
