It is reported that another consignment of coconut oil containing the carcinogenic agent afloxin has been imported.
It is reported that this consignment of coconut oil has also been imported by the well known private company which has been accused of importing coconut oil containing the carcinogenic agent ‘aflatoxin’.
A senior official of the Sri Lanka Standards Institution stated to the media yesterday (10th) that the Sri Lanka Customs Department was informed by a report that two samples taken from the stock of coconut oil belonging to the company contained ‘aflatoxin’.
It is further reported that this company was the first to be accused of importing coconut oil which contains carcinogens called ‘aflatoxin’.
