Minister of Trade Bandula Gunawardena says that those who deliberately lie with malice about the Rs. 1000 relief bag should be arrested and questioned by the CID. The Minister was speaking in Parliament yesterday (9th) regarding the relief package.
“When I introduced the relief bag containing 12 items worth Rs. 1000, I said that the relief bag would be enough for two weeks. When I was asked if the relief bag was for a family, I said yes. It slipped out of my mouth. At that moment the Chairman of the CWE told me to say that the relief bag was for one person. That is what is now being interpreted as absurd. Therefore, those who spread absurd lies in this regard should be arrested questioned and justice should be done.
Minister Bandula Gunawardena has further stated that a cunning and ignorant person of the Consumer Rights Protection Organization has told anti-government stories about the relief package.
