The main suspect involved in forging a fake deed for a valuable 79.71-perch plot of land on Barnes Place, Colombo 07, and selling it to a prominent company for tens of millions of rupees, has been arrested by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID).
The suspect, a resident of the Nagas Handiya area in Kalutara, was apprehended in Kalutara town and is scheduled to be produced before the Colombo Chief Magistrate’s Court today (16).
The CID presented facts to the court revealing that the 73-year-old suspect, operating under a false identity, forged the deed and sold the land to the company in collusion with a group of individuals, including a person named Dilantha Malagamuwa.
