Former NTC Chairman Renuka Perera Remanded

Former Chairman of the National Transport Commission (NTC), Renuka Perera, who was arrested by the Bribery Commission over corruption allegations involving the issuance of 56 passenger transport permits for the Southern Expressway, has been remanded until September 29 by the Colombo Magistrate’s Court today (17).

The order was issued by Colombo Chief Magistrate Asanga S. Bodaragama after considering the submissions made by officers of the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC) and the attorneys representing the suspect.

Renuka Perera was taken into custody by the Bribery Commission earlier this morning.
