During the periods when Mahinda Rajapaksa and the Rajapaksa family held governance, all three groups that utilized terrorism to maintain an atmosphere of terror within the country have now been turned into the family’s saviors.
This dynamic was reaffirmed yesterday (12) after MP Archchuna Ramanathan participated in a rally organized in Anuradhapura by close associates of the Rajapaksa family. Ramanathan had previously publicly declared Prabhakaran as his god.
In earlier instances, both Karuna Amman and Pillayan were utilized as political tools by the Rajapaksa family. Observers point out that Archchuna Ramanathan—who declared Prabhakaran a god—sitting on the very same stage alongside Mahinda Rajapaksa provides clear evidence for the public to re-evaluate the current political landscape.
