The Jaffna Magistrate’s Court has ordered former President Gotabaya Rajapaksa to deliver his testimony on September 29 regarding the disappearance of human rights activists Lalith Kumar Weeraraj and Kugan Murugananthan.
The court directed that the testimony be given online from the Colombo Chief Magistrate’s Court premises.
Gotabaya Rajapaksa has been named a witness in the trial concerning the 2011 disappearance of the two activists. Although he was summoned to give evidence on several previous occasions, he had repeatedly evaded appearing before the court, citing security concerns and other reasons.
