Media Briefed on Prajashakthi Programme Ahead of National Launch

A special workshop was held yesterday (June 30) at the Presidential Secretariat to brief media heads on the upcoming “Prajashakthi” National Programme, a key initiative aimed at empowering communities and ensuring fair economic distribution.

Chaired by Senior Additional Secretary to the President Kapila Janaka Bandara, the session outlined the programme’s focus on addressing multidimensional poverty, particularly in rural areas, through integrated development in sectors such as education, health, food security, and transport.

The programme is set to be officially launched on July 4 under the patronage of President Anura Kumara Dissanayake. Media leaders were invited to share ideas and support public awareness efforts to ensure its success.

Senior Media Advisor to the President Chandana Suriyabandara highlighted the role of media in connecting citizens with national development goals.
