“Since 1994, we have brought November Heroes’ flag to this victory through various repressions andvilifications,” states Badulla district executive member of the National People’s Power and Badulla district candidate, Sudath Balagalla.
He emphasized this while addressing the public rally held in Badulla on the 3rd to confirm the victory of the candidate group of the National People’s Power in the district.
Speakinfg further Sudath Balagalla said, “In the past, those who slander us, scared the elderly mothers and fathers. Due to their rule, our beloved mothers, fathers and grandmothers and grandfathers who are seventy and eighty years old have had to take the mammoty and go to the filed even during this rainy season. But, in our administration, those elderly mothers and fathers will bee provided with the environment and facilities they need to live a comfortable life. In the history of politics, the month of November is a time when our party was subjected to great repression. More than sixty thousand comrades of our party were killed. This is the month of November Heroes. Dear colleagues who were born to build a better life for us were tortured and killed. After that, from 1994, we brought the flag of those comrades to this victory in the midst of various repressions and insults.
Uva Wellassa also has a background of heroes like Ven. Kudapola Thero, Gongale Goda Banda, Doresami, Madugalle, Veera Kappettipola. who sacrificed their lives. Twelve of us, who are descended from them, have come forward for the general election to work for the victory of ‘Malimawe’.
Like all of us on this stage, all of you standing in the rain in front of the stage are those who rallied for the victory of the September 21 presidential election. All of us in Badulla district will play a special role in making that victory even stronger on November 14th. Everyone in Badulla district is requested to contribute to a historic victory on the 14th.”
