Retired Air Vice Marshal, who expressed his views on NPP platform, blacklisted

A retired air force officer has been barred from entering air force bases and getting all the facilities that a retired officer can get from the air force for doing politics and expressing views on it.
The officer who has been blacklisted since last 10th is Air Vice Marshal (Retired) Sampath Thuiyakontha. He retired from service one and a half years ago after receiving awards as a senior officer of the Air Force and a distinguished officer.
In an inquiry by ‘thetime.lk’, Air Force Media Spokesperson Group Captain Dushan Wijesinghe confirmed the related news.
The media spokesperson told the site that this retired officer had been blacklisted based on a statement he made on a political party platform, and accordingly he has been banned from entering any air force base or receiving any facilities from the air force.
Air Vice Marshal (Retired) Sampath Thuiyakontha is currently doing political work with the NPP. He had recently criticized the government’s performance in a major meeting of the retired three armed forces collective held in Gampaha.
