Shehan Malaka Gamage, a civil activist who held a press conference to demand justice for the Easter attack, was arrested by the CID in Panadura this evening (14).
Police Media Spokesman SSP Nihal Thalduwa stated that Shehan was arrested on the instructions of the Attorney General.
The police spokesman said that the arrest was made due to an investigation into the controversial statements made regarding the Easter attack.
The Police Media Spokesman stated that Shehan was arrested under Section 120 of the Penal Code.
The CID had summoned him on eight occasions and recorded his statements regarding his statements made to the media.
