Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) today (04) announced a 16-member squad for the upcoming ODI Tri-Series in Pakistan, which features Sri Lanka, Pakistan, and England.
Led by Kusal Mendis, the squad includes several notable changes. Dasun Shanaka and Sahan Arachchige have been recalled to the ODI squad after more than two years, while opening batsman Avishka Fernando returns after being sidelined for over a year.
In addition, opening batsman Pathum Nissanka, who has been recovering from an injury, has been included in the squad. However, SLC stated that his participation in the series is subject to fitness clearance following medical tests.
Sri Lanka’s tour of Pakistan will kick off with a three-match T20I series scheduled for October 9, 11, and 13.
Following the T20I series, the ODI Tri-Series will commence on October 18 with the opening match between Sri Lanka and Pakistan, running through October 27.
Upon conclusion of the tri-series, Sri Lanka will also play two Test matches against Pakistan under the ICC World Test Championship cycle.
