The Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) says that there will be occasional power outages in several parts of the island due to the failure of one of the Norochcholai Coal Power Plant turbines.
About two weeks ago, a similar power outage occurred at the Norochcholai power plant, leading to unannounced power cuts across the country. As a result, the public was severely affected, and nearly 25% of the island’s total electricity consumption was affected.
