Do ministers come to Parliament to show their faces to President? – Speaker

The Speaker Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena questioned in Parliament today (30th) whether the Ministers come to Parliament to show their faces to the President when he arrives.
He made this observation drawing the attention of the Chief Government Whip before the commencement of today’s debate on the 2022 Budget Committee Stage in Parliament.
“I would like to draw the attention of the ruling party organizer to the fact that there are no ministers in the front row on either side of you at this time. It is an unfortunate situation. Everyone in the House should be responsible for answering when a problem like this arises. So pay attention to that because all the ministers are there on the day the President comes. Then we will have to tell the President to come to Parliament every day.
I would like to draw your attention to the fact that everyone should fulfil this responsibility without relinquishing the collective responsibility,” said the Speaker,
