Senior journalist Elmo Gunaratne died this morning of corona infection.
Elmo Gunaratne, who was 86 at his death, has a distinguished media history of over 60 years. He became the first and only editor-in-chief of the trio of Lankadeepa, the Sunday Times and the Daily Mirror, published by the Times of Ceylon in the late 1970s.
Damitha Gunaratne, the eldest son of Elmo Gunaratne and a former journalist, also passed away suddenly yesterday.
