According to a World Health Organization report, there could be as many as 18,000 corona deaths by January if the current situation in Sri Lanka continues.
The Sri Lanka Office of the WHO handed over the report prepared in collaboration with a team of professors and specialists in epidemiology to the Ministry of Health yesterday.
This report contains several suggestions to prevent this terrible situation. They include completing vaccinations for persons over 60 years of age and persons with chronic diseases on a priority basis, protecting health workers, imposing strict travel restrictions between districts, imposing curfew for a few weeks, and making available correct information on infections and deaths.
