Covid causes another serious illness in children

Pediatricians report that a disease called Multisystem Inflammatory Syndrome is spreading among children. It is said to affect the heart, kidneys, brain, lungs, skin, eyes and the digestive system.
Six children who have contracted the disease are already being treated at the Intensive Care Unit of the Colombo LRH Hospital. Symptoms include fever, abdominal pain, diarrhea, redness of the skin, neck pain, and vomiting. Children between the ages of 8 and 15 in families with or without covid have been infected. The cause of the disease has not yet been identified.
