CID questions Hiru journalist and cameraman who interviewed Siddhika

The CID has questioned the journalist and cameraman of Hiru TV who had a televised interview with the Director-General of the Sri Lanka Standards Institution Siddhika Senaratne regarding the presence of aflatoxin in coconut oil imported recently. The officers of the CID who visited Hiru Media have interrogated the two journalists for more than three hours.
In this television interview, Siddhika Senaratne stated that food containing toxic chemicals is coming to the country and that it is not disclosed because the companies that import it would go bankrupt. There was a great deal of controversy in the society and there were a number of protests against it. Instead of investigating companies that import these toxic chemicals, the CID has launched a manhunt of journalists who expose them. Sri Lanka Standards Institution is under President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa.
