Three party leaders walk out from PM’s meeting

Ministers Vasudeva Nanayakkara, Wimal Weerawansa and Udaya Gammanpila have walked out from the government party leaders meeting convened today (19th) under the patronage of Mahinda Rajapaksa.

They have walked away stating that a group of non-party leaders have also been invited to the meeting.

In addition to the party leaders, 51 delegates representing various organizations were present at the meeting.
Accordingly, when inquired by Wimal Weerawansa, Chief of Staff to the Prime Minister Yoshitha Rajapaksa has stated that all of them were invited to this meeting.

Accordingly, Wimal Weerawansa has left the meeting stating that it was not a party leaders’ meeting and that he would attend if a party leaders’ meeting is convened again.

At the same time Udaya Gammanpila and Vasudeva Nanayakkara also had left the meeting.
