Easter attack was an attack by a political group – Cardinal reveals

Cardinal Malcolm Ranjith said the motive for the Easter attack was about political power.

He revealed this at a function held at the Borella Cemetery to commemorate the victims of the Easter attack. He said the attack was carried out by extremists used as pawns to gain political power. He also stated that it was not a religious extremist attack.
He called on all to refrain from using religion, race or language to torment another and to change the concept of murder to wield political power.
