Asela Sampath, National Organizer of the Public Rights Protection Foundation, says it is a shameful act of the government to arrest him for talking about the people’s meal.
Asela Sampath, who was arrested by the police, was remanded till April 19 by the Maligakanda Magistrate’s Court yesterday (14th).
While being taken to remand prison by prison guards Mr Sampath said, ““Protect my children until I come back. I am a man who spoke on behalf of the people of this country. I talked about the drugs in the schools, the food of the police, the food of these jailors, the quality of the food. Therefore, Minister Bandula Gunawardena said that I would be arrested with a warrant. It has been activated. Is Bandula the Minister of Police in this country or Sarath Weerasekara? Shame on the government, that’s all I have to say about the government.”
