Political observers have turned their focus toward recent media briefings and indoor meetings conducted by the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP), warning that statements made by party leaders risk misleading their supporters.
Commentators noted in a satirical critique that key figures, including SLPP General Secretary Attorney-at-Law Sagara Kariyawasam, may soon claim before their base that the National Identity Card number 222222222V does not belong to Shiranthi Rajapaksa, but rather to an individual named Mary Lourdes Wickramasinghe.
Prior to adopting the name Shiranthi Rajapaksa for political and public purposes, her official name on her birth certificate was registered as Mary Lourdes Wickramasinghe.
Meanwhile, Shiranthi Rajapaksa returned to the island last night (October 05) after all attempts to secure legal immunity and avoid arrest proved unsuccessful.
