Former First Lady Shiranthi Rajapaksa has filed an anticipatory bail application before the Maligakanda Magistrate’s Court, seeking release on bail in the event of her arrest.
The petition, submitted through her legal counsel, names the Director of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) and several others as respondents.
According to reports, the application requests the court to grant anticipatory bail to prevent her arrest upon her return to Sri Lanka from abroad.
