The Colombo High Court reschedules the pre-trial conference for former Minister Duminda Dissanayake and a Kazakh national woman over the illegal possession of a gold-plated firearm.
The Colombo High Court has ordered the case filed against former Minister Duminda Dissanayake and a foreign woman, who are named as defendants in the incident involving the seizure of a gold-plated firearm at the Havelock City housing complex, to be called on November 04.
The case was taken up yesterday (02) before Colombo High Court Judge Udesh Ranatunga, with former Minister Duminda Dissanayake and Kazakh national Aigul Sheragazina appearing in court.
During the proceedings, the court ordered the case to be adjourned until November 04 for a pre-trial conference, as the President’s Counsel representing the defense was indisposed due to illness.
The Attorney General has filed indictments against the defendants for unlawfully possessing a gold-plated firearm without a valid license and aiding and abetting the offense at the Havelock City housing complex in Wellawatte on May 20, 2025.
