Acting General Manager of the Ceylon Electricity Board Dr Susantha Perera says that there will be a daily power cut from next Tuesday (25th).
He says the thermal power plants will run out of fuel by next Tuesday, and the power supply will have to be curtailed at night from the following day.
Dr Susantha Perera states that 183 megawatts of power will be lost to the power grid from Tuesday due to the power outage of several power plants due to the lack of fuel oil.
He added that the manner and time of the power outage would be announced the following Monday, and there would be no need to disconnect the power supply until Monday.
