The National Executive Council of the National People’s Power (NPP) has been announced, covering all districts in Sri Lanka.
The National Executive Council consisting of 73 members, was announced at the Special Representatives General Conference of the NPP convened yesterday (20th). It has appointed political leaders, artists, writers, trade union leaders, university lecturers and doctors from many walks of life.
Anura Kumara Dissanayake was appointed as the Leader of the NPP, and Dr Nihal Abeysinghe was appointed as the Secretary. Prof. Chandana Abeyratne, President of the National Intellectuals’ Organization, Attorney-at-Law Lal Wijenayake, Chathuranga Abeysinghe, Dr Harini Amarasuriya, Member of Parliament, Ms Saroja Polraj, Prof. Liyanage Amarakeerthi and other JVP leaders addressed the special conference.
