Several significant facts were revealed in court yesterday (15) regarding the release of the daughter of an individual named Alawdeen—who had been arrested and detained in connection with the brutal Easter Sunday attack—immediately after Gotabaya Rajapaksa assumed the presidency, as well as details concerning Ranjan Senarath Bandara, also known as ‘Sonic Sonic’, who had received prior information about the attack.

Senior Deputy Solicitor General Dileepa Peiris revealed further details at the Colombo Fort Magistrate’s Court on how businessman Alawdeen provided immense support to Gotabaya Rajapaksa’s election campaign, leading to his daughter’s release from custody and the subsequent cover-up of the Easter Sunday attack investigations.
