Namal Rajapaksa Flees Rapidly After Making Parliamentary Statements

Hiding behind parliamentary privileges, MP Namal Rajapaksa and groups from the remnant opposition have made it a routine to issue statements solely for their social media and promotional platforms, only to flee the chamber immediately afterward.

Last week in Parliament, Namal Rajapaksa delivered a statement, passionately claiming that he does not flee through backdoors. However, right after his speech, as Government MP Dr. Najith Indika was preparing to address the House, Namal Rajapaksa promptly walked out of the chamber. Although Dr. Najith Indika named Namal Rajapaksa directly and challenged him to remain in the chamber, his rapid departure drew particular attention from weekend political analysts.

Meanwhile, past incidents of the Rajapaksa family fleeing have resurfaced across social media. These include Mahinda Rajapaksa and his entire family fleeing Temple Trees to take refuge at the Trincomalee Naval Dockyard, Basil Rajapaksa fleeing Sri Lanka for the United States, and Gotabaya Rajapaksa abandoning the presidency and fleeing the country.
