Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa’s son Yoshita Rajapaksa has been arrested by the Criminal Investigation Department this morning (25).
Police Media Spokesman, Senior Superintendent of Police Buddhika Manatunga says thatYoshitha was arrested in Beliatta district on charges of misappropriation of property and assets.
He was also summoned to the Criminal Investigation Department on January 3 to give a statement regarding the ownership of land in Katharagama area.
Earlier, the Criminal Investigation Department had questioned former President Gotabaya Rajapaksa regarding the land and recorded statements.
