Prime Minister Harini Amarasuriya met with ACWF (All-China Women’s Federation ) Vice President Zhang Dongmei at the Prime Minister’s Office.
They discussed mutual efforts for women’s empowerment and development.
The challenges and opportunities for women’s contribution to health, education, and the economy, their participation in the labour force, and increasing representation at the grassroots level have been focused on. The Vice President of the ACWF has also highlighted China’s progress on women’s development.
Chinese Ambassador to Sri Lanka Qi Zhenhong, Prime Minister’s Secretary Pradeep Saputantri, Prime Minister’s Additional Secretary Sagarika Bogahawatta, Ministry of Foreign Affairs East Asia Director General Ruwanthi Delpitiya, Director Udani Gunawardena, and senior Embassy officials were present on this occasion.
