Amila Abeysekera, the former Vice Chairman of Tangalle Pradeshiya Sabha, was arrested today (15) by Tangalle Criminal Investigation Division officers on the charge of possessing a jeep with fake number plates.
His jeep was parked near a house on Weerasinghe Mawatha, Beliatta, Puwakdandawa, and was taken over by officers of the Thangalle Criminal Investigation Division yesterday.
The police also said that it was revealed that the former Vice Chairman Amila Abeysekera used the jeep.
The police also stated that former Vice-Chairman Amila Abeysekera was arrested on suspicion after it was revealed that the jeep’s number was fake and that the vehicle belonged to a resident of the Gampola area.
