The Disaster Management Center has announced that 44 teams of Navy and Air Force helicopters have been kept ready for operations in view of the floods, which have particularly affected the districts of Gampaha, Colombo, and Kalutara.
The Department of Meteorology’s announcements show that there will be further thunderstorms from today (13) evening. It further states that although the rains that have fallen on the western slopes of the central mountains have gradually reduced, there will be more rain in the next few days.
