A number of revelations have been made about the recovery of wealth looted by fraudsters and the corrupt as soon as the National People’s Power forms a government after winning the presidential election.
This was first revealed by Prof. Anil Jayantha of the Economic Council of the NPP, who participated in the ‘Mawatha’ programme telecast by Sirasa TV on the 5th.
He said that a lawyer in Singapore famous for handling financial crimes had a discussion with the Economic Council of the NPP and explained the ‘Mareva injunction’ implemented in Singapore.
He explained how that process was carried out to recover the people’s wealth in that country by corrupt rulers who had come to power before Lee Kwan You.
(Mareva is used to ensure that assets which should be available to satisfy a potential judgment are not spirited away
It is and injunction which restrains fraudsters or thepr agents, servants or otherwise from removing assets from the jurisdiction or disposing of or dealing with those assets so as to frustrate a any party seeking to recover from the looted wealth.)
